Q1/2026 update (p.3)

Dang in Berkeley February 2026

I had the pleasure of formally introducing myself and my research agenda to the School of Information Faculty Business Meeting on 4 February 2026.

In my presentation, I outlined my training across the social sciences and humanities, my broader intellectual project at Berkeley, and some of my own views on topics such as cybersecurity, system robustness, and how we might think differently about AI.

Since then, that broader vision has begun to take concrete form through my first personal project at Berkeley: Emerging AI Adoption and Distributed Expertise in the Asia-Pacific.

The project is not intended as an endpoint in itself, but rather as an initial foundation—a first institutional and intellectual step toward a larger research agenda that I hope to continue developing over the coming years.
